Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Internet Culture (“Internet Culture”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit www.internetculture.org, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.

If you have questions after reading it, contact us at [hello@internetculture.org].

1. Who we are

Internet Culture is a learning platform for marketing, operated from India. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), Internet Culture is the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Email address – when you subscribe to our newsletter. It is used to send you the newsletter and occasional essential updates about Internet Culture.
  • Contact and form submissions – when you contact us or submit a case study request, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message, in order to respond.
  • Comments – when you comment on a post, we collect the name, email address, and comment you submit, along with your IP address and browser user agent, for spam detection.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Analytics data – pages visited, time spent, referring source, device type, browser, and approximate location (city level). Collected via Google Analytics in aggregated form; we do not use it to identify you personally.
  • Log data – standard server logs (IP address, browser, access times) maintained by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes.
  • Cookies – small files stored by your browser. These are described fully in our [Cookie Policy].

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Deliver the newsletter you subscribed to
  • Respond to your messages and requests
  • Understand which content readers find useful, in order to improve the platform
  • Maintain the security and performance of the website
  • Comply with legal obligations where applicable

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the following grounds:

  • Consent – for the newsletter and non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or adjusting your browser settings.
  • Legitimate interest – for analytics, security, and improving the platform, in ways that do not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation – where retention or disclosure is required by law.

5. Third-party services

A small number of service providers process limited data on our behalf, under their own privacy terms:

  • Google – website Operations & traffic statistics (Google’s Privacy Policy)
  • [Email service provider] – stores subscriber details and delivers the newsletter
  • Hosting Servers – website hosting and server infrastructure

Our pages may also include embedded content (for example, Linkedin, YouTube, posts from X, or Instagram). Embedded content behaves as though you visited those platforms directly; those platforms may collect data and set their own cookies under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

6. Data retention

  • Newsletter subscriptions – retained until you unsubscribe. Every email contains a working unsubscribe link.
  • Contact and form submissions – retained as long as necessary to address your request, then deleted.
  • Comments – retained while the relevant post remains published, unless you request deletion.
  • Analytics data – retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights in the event of death or incapacity
  • Raise a grievance and receive a response

To exercise any of these rights, email [hello@internetculture.org] with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 30 days.

If you are visiting from the European Union or United Kingdom, you hold equivalent rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The same contact email applies.

8. Data security

The website operates over HTTPS, and access to stored personal data is restricted to those who need it to operate the platform. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we mitigate this risk by collecting only the minimum data required to run the site.

9. Children

Internet Culture is intended for marketers, students, and professionals. It is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International visitors

The website is operated from India. If you access it from outside India, you understand that your information will be processed in India under the standards described in this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

As Internet Culture introduces new features – such as community, events, or memberships – this policy will be updated. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Where a change is significant, subscribers will be notified by email before it takes effect.

12. Grievance officer

In accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023, grievances regarding the processing of personal data may be directed to:

Grievance Officer, Internet Culture
Email: [hello@internetculture.org] – subject line “Privacy Grievance.”
